4-H is the youth development organization that was founded in 1902 under the auspices of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The letters stand for head, heart, hands and health.

It is quite likely that this covered box sugar was used at Jackson's Mill State 4-H Camp in Lewis County, W.V., but without the accompanying etching of the camp we're including this on its own as well. Info about the camp follows, along with photos:

It is quite charming and unusual to see the logo paired with the pastoral etching of Jackson's Mill State 4-H Camp in Lewis County, W.V. (See photo below, courtesy of "West Virginia Division of Tourism, Steve Shaluta, photographer.)

"Jackson's Mill was Confederate Gen. Thomas J. '"Stonewall' Jackson's boyhood home and since 1921 has been the location of West Virginia's state 4-H camp." ... "Jackson’s Mill is operated by the West Virginia University Extension Service as a multipurpose year-round conference center for adults and youth." https://www.wvencyclopedia.org/articles/950

The distributor was S&W China of Clarksburg, W.V.
