Dainty Ice Cream Shell Used at The Androy in Superior, Wisconsin

The nine-story Androy, located in Superior, Wisc., opened in 1925 on Tower Avenue and is not to be confused with the other Androy hotel in Hibbing, Minn. It is believed that both hotels were owned at one time – and named – by the same men, Andrew Doran and Roy Quigley, hence the name The Androy.

The ice cream shell is about 5” by 4 ¼” by about 7/8” high, just about big enough for one good-sized scoop! It would be perfect for anyone whose monogram includes an A to hold jewelry on a bedside table or a round bar of bath guest soap. Its condition is excellent with only light use marks and a few spots of age discoloration, as pictured. It was made somewhere from the early Twenties to the Mid-Fifties.
