Ercoupe Airbrushed Platter by Syracuse China - Beautiful!

Billed when created as the world's safest plane, the Ercoupe is a low-wing monoplane, first manufactured by Engineering and Research Corporation before World War II and several other manufacturers after the end of the war. The last aircraft rolled off the assembly line in 1968.

It continues to be a popular plane, with ercoupe clubs all over the country.

This beautiful airbrushed platter was produced by Syracuse China in 1955 and is in excellent condition. It has very few use marks and its glaze is bright and shiny. Unlike most vintage restaurant ware, its foot on the back is also pristine and white. Its one barely noticeable blemish is a small circle of slightly paler glaze located about an inch to the right of the tail, visible in the detailed photo.

The platter is heavy, weighing almost 2 pounds and measuring 11 3/8" x 9 1/8".
