Union News Company Shield Pattern Plates – Iroquois China

From the Restaurant Ware Collectors Network: “Founded in the late 1800s, the Union News Company was known for its railroad news and printing services. The company sold magazines, newspapers, books, tobacco products and other items from newsstands located in train station. The company later ventured into restaurants and lunch counters at railroad stations located in the East and Midwest. It also operated concessions in railroad stations, as well as airports, into the 1960s.”

This is a set of four 8-inch plates that I am selling individually. They are in the Shield pattern and all are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Made by Iroquois China, they have a date code of 1930.

They all show overall light use marks. The first is in the best condition, and in addition to the light use, the second has a scuff, the third has a couple of light scuffs, and a fourth one has one fairly deep scratch. Especially considering their age, all look very, very nice and I will ship out the plates with what I consider to be the best ones going first.
