Underglaze Print Pattern: 7006

The Onion pattern was commonly found in pink/red and blue. An additional green sample plate (see bottom of page) has been found in Judy Reed's collection of her father's work. He was Paul C. Mattson, a designer at Carr for several years. It is not known if this color was ever produced. (Green Onion photos contributed by Bill Montgomery.) And an additional example in brown has just been added.

A page in a notebook put together by Joy Bachman, wife of Wheeler Bachman (Carr's last president), included photos of the Onion pattern with notes that it was used at the Mission Inn in Riverside, California, and that the pattern was engraved by G. W. Staton, Carr's last engraver.
