McMinn’s Ice Cream seems to have been quite the destination point in McMinnville, Penn., based on a postcard making its rounds on the Internet that shows a large compound that included its ice cream plant, a huge parking lot, welcoming rest rooms and a big gift shop. It reminds me of the Stuckey’s that we used to see all over the South!
It also appears to have branched out with at least one other location, in West Chester, Penn.
This plate, likely made in the 1930s by Scammell China on its Trenton China body, is just 6 3/8” in diameter. It is in excellent condition, very shiny, but with medium-to-heavy use marks. The only flaw I see is one tiny dark speck on the front.
