This beautiful airbrushed pattern by Syracuse China with its Econo-Rim edging designed for railroad service was an exclusive design for the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific Railroad – or Milwaukee Road. The date of production spanned between 1937 and 1969. This platter was made in 1954.
It is 9 ¾” by 7 7/8” and is ultra-shiny and looks new. I can see a few marks on the surface so this piece did not come out of an unwrapped box as mint, but it is just about as close to new as I’ve found in patterns that are more than 60 years old. Something else that’s a little different about this platter is that it has three Canada geese on it. Most of the platters in this size just have two.
