You walk quietly and blurry-eyed into your hometown diner for a comfort breakfast or that last piece of pie and cup of coffee at midnight and these dishes are what might greet you: the quintessential café tan with red lines. They are mid-century. They are retro. They are rustic.
They do truly go with a wide variety of home décor – or no décor at all. They’re perfect with neutral, earth-friendly bamboo mats and cotton napkins colored with vegetable dyes, and they’re equally at home dressed up with a red tablecloth and matching napkins for Christmas dinner. Whatever the occasion, whatever the food, they match.
And best of all, each piece was made by Carr China on its Glo-Tan body color – never to be made again since the company closed in 1952 more than 60 years ago.
Some shapes have more wear than others, but all are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and lots of shine.
These heavy, large bowls are 5 3/4” wide by 2 1/4” high and sold individually. Condition is excellent with medium all over wear.
