This heavy, scalloped platter with deep well is the Harriman Blue pattern used by the Union Pacific Railroad on the Challenger and Overland trains. It is 10 ¾” by 7 ½”. It shows heavy use and has an old rim chip (shown in photo) that reflects its age of up to 100 years with its Maddock’s American China impressed mark. Historian Larry Paul believes this stamp was first used around 1913. In addition, it has the Union Pacific Overland Shield.
Price is reduced because of the rim chip.
SHIPPING NOTE: Due to limitations of the software here, shipping is quoted by Priority Mail. However, there are times that a significant amount of money can be saved by shipping by Parcel Select, especially to the Midwest and West. Therefore, at my discretion I will use that option when possible and refund any overpayment. If you’d ever like to have a shipping quote before you purchase, use to Contact button to make that request. And of course I’ll combine shipping on multiple purchases whenever possible!
